This wonderful book by one of the true pioneers of aeronautical engineering summarizes the research into aerodynamic lift during aviation's golden age. The scope is broad, the depth sufficient to bring anyone into a well-informed knowledge of pre-computer aerodymanics. Great book

I read this book as a student and loved it !,

As I recall, this book took the large pile of empirical knowledge and then derived from these a reasonably sound background work in aerodynamics. This book is complemented by one of the author's other works, "Fluid Dynamic Drag".
