You cannot tell from the picture that this is a one piece unit. No real explanation from the ad on how it is to be installed. I thought this was a frame with a door insert. What I got was a one piece unit with a spring loaded clips. Makes it difficult to install around studs. Nothing for the spring loaded clips to grab onto. I had to buy velcro strips to make it work.

This is one of the better access panels. It is easy to use. The drywall hole does not have to be exact. I needed some access to low voltage wiring below my security panel. I cut the hole using the provided template. I was not exact. The access panel has a spring activated latch on opposite sides. Just line up with the square hole and press in. Thats it. To remove just grasp on two sides and pull. The latches release. Couldn't be easier.
This product can be found at many price points. Amazon had the best prices.

It's nice that it can be painted. I bought this after seeing it used on PBS' This Old House. Just the trick for use behind a tiled shower wall. Shower leaked and my brother-in-law convinced me the only way to fix the leak was to cut through a wall. A few beers later and he was right. Figured I'd leave the new access hole in case the leak returned. This puppy does the trick. One more thing I wish I was smart enough to think of but someone else beat me to the patent.

This is an instant "get out of jail pass" for a messed up wall. Get the sides close enuf to the 14 inches and it will hide the hole with a neat looking, easily handled cover. I was accessing a plumbing valve and now I can go back into the hole and do more work in the future, if needed. This easy to remove panel is perfect for these little fix it jobs. I have a white wall so I did nothing else, but I would wager that one could paint this cover to match existing color schemes.

We needed to have access to the back/underside of our Jacuzzi tub, but the guys who remodeled our condo put in solid drywall on the opposite side. Our only access to the plumbing and wiring for our tub was the panel across the side...but some of the wiring was further back, making access very difficult.
We bought this panel and it arrived quickly. We cut a hole in our drywall and now we can just pop off this panel if we need to reach the farther-back wiring and plumbing underneath the tub (access is from a hallway wall that backs onto the rear wall of our shower). We haven't painted it yet, we just got it this past Thursday or Friday, but we do plan to paint it to match the wall color. Once we do that, it'll be close enough to invisible for our needs. And the convenience of being able to access the wiring and plumbing without twisting into contortions is WELL worth having a wall that's not completely drywall from top to bottom. It helps that we installed this low down on the wall, right above the baseboard, since that's the area that we need to have the access. I'm sure that this would be more noticeable higher up on the wall. But then, if you need to put this higher up on a wall, you could always hang some art over it, and not see it at all. Five stars for this product. I wish more contractors/construction workers would consider these kinds of issues of access for the homeowner.

This is nothing but a panel with two clips. You have to pull it off and on every time for access. It is NOT a hinged type door. Very poor design. I would have never bought it if I knew how poorly it attaches to the sheetrock.
