5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book!
I am an RN and found this book to be extremely helpful! It is easy to read and follow - even for the layperson. It has helpful diagrams. I have read many medical books about fluid and electrolytes and found this book the most helpful and easiest for me to understand. I now feel as though I truly understand how the body reacts to different fluid and electrolyte levels...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fluid and Electrolytes Incredibly Made Easy
The book was in perfect condition but arrived sooooooo late. I was hoping to read ahead before my class started but so much for that plan. The book was in very good condition though and seller was very polite and responded religiously to emails. Thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book!, June 28, 2002
I am an RN and found this book to be extremely helpful! It is easy to read and follow - even for the layperson. It has helpful diagrams. I have read many medical books about fluid and electrolytes and found this book the most helpful and easiest for me to understand. I now feel as though I truly understand how the body reacts to different fluid and electrolyte levels and how it compensates for the loss. Prior to reading this book I had the basic knowledge that I learned in nursing school but still had trouble relating this to certain disease states & deficiencies. This book explained in detail how the body uses certain electrolytes - for example potassium, I now understand what happens to other body systems when their is an excess or deficit of potassium and how other body systems are affected by this change. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to learn more about fluid and electrolytes!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, September 3, 2002

I am an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and ACLS Experienced Provider (ACLS-EP) Instructor and use this book in my classes. It is a great book to teach electrolytes, and is very clear. I am also an Excelsior student, and this book was essential for Nursing Concepts 2 test. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing this book if you plan on taking NC2 or ACLS-EP. If you are ever confused about why you have electrolytes infusing, this book is clear and to the point.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful book!!!!, July 18, 2003

This book helped me get through Pathophysiology. When you are learning about Fluids and Electrolytes, it really breaks it down into an easier to understand format. The quizzes and questions at the end of the book are also helpful. They do not only give you the correct answer but also tell you why it is correct. I would reccommend it to any nursing student, even if your program does not require Patho!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book. Got an A on my test!, December 18, 2004
This is a wonderful book. Fluid & Electrolytes is a very complex subject and this book was able to simplify and reiterate important topics. The book went over essential topics such as electrolyte imbalances, acid-base imbalances, fluid shifts and made it interesting to learn all at the same time. I highly recommend this book to nursing students.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book to learn F&E for the first time, November 17, 2007
This review is from: Fluids and Electrolytes Made Incredibly Easy! (Incredibly Easy! Series) (Paperback)
This is the text that I used to learn fluid and electrolytes when I was in nursing school. By far the this is the best place to start. I haven't seen another text that makes this subject as accessible as this one does. For example, the authors used a picture of a magnet to illustrate how albumin pulls water from our peripheral spaces into the vascular space. There are many examples of pictures and simple acronyms that the authors use to cement different concepts in learners mind. It will make learning Fluid and Electrolytes understandable for you. Plus I can assure you that you will use this book again and again on your journey towards learning your profession. It ended up being one of my best resources.

One example where I really benefited from this book was when I was studying diabetes. Understanding that increased glucose content in the blood causes osmolar shifts and that the body seeks homeostasis (water travels down it's concentration gradient). Hence diabetes that is out of control can easily cause the patient to become dehydrated via osmotic diaresis. A concept that was much easier for me to understand with the help of this text. Once you read this book you will be able to move on to more advanced F&E texts with no problem. This is a no brainer purchase if your trying to understand F&E.

P.S. I'm rooting for you!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great aid in learning...., December 26, 2006
There are many different types of learners, and while my text was often hard for me to understand, these books have been great "helpers"....often I would read the text, come to these books, then go back to my text and have an "Aha" moment....I highly recommend this and the Pathophysiology book at this point in my education...

4.0 out of 5 stars Confused Nursing Students Start Here!, September 22, 2007
By
Sneaky Reader (Burnsville,MN USA) - See all my reviews
In my first year of Nursing school I had a professor at the "nation's largest women's college" who tried to teach us 'the basics" on fluid and electrolytes and on ABG's. Well she either did a really horrible job, or all 80 of us are really too stubid to have been accepted there :) This year the school 'recommended' this book. We all got it. From the first sentence in Chapter 3, it seemed like my entire mind cleared up. I could not fathom that this subject could really be this easy. In short, I passed the first test we had without having to disturb my own fluid balance at all! Get this book, whether your professor know's how to teach it or not, this will help you through the craziness of nursing school.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful for nursing, June 9, 2007

I got this book because I was having a hard time with the subject in my first year nursing classes. I feel like it helped alot by breaking down the subect into simple bites and going over each electrolyte, imbalance, and common medical causes individually. I definately feel that it helped me to pass my exams that year. In short, a great review book if your having a hard time with the subject.
