5.0 out of 5 stars Fluke changes their T5 holster to offer more value, December 30, 2008
This review is from: Fluke Corporation T5-KIT Tester Accessory Starter Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
At one time long ago fluke had a t5 belt holster - it had a few problems mainly because the cables for the t5 are permanently attached to the meter (but have interchangable tips) - I like the permanent leads since noboby borrows your testleads, however on their first holster it made using the holster awkward depending on how you wrapped your cables and what probes you were using at the time. This solves that issue and better protects the parts against loss, plus there is room to store more probes if you need them in your job inside the case.

If you are as careful about protecting your tools to buy this, I'll mention a trick that a general contractor friend taught me - if you work on jobsites and use your own tools - go to the hardware store and pick a marking spray paint color that stands out (like flourescent yellow, orange, or green) - spraypaint a streak on all your tools, cases, toolboxes (he even put a stripe on his ford truck) - the reason is that A) at the end of the day it makes it easy to round up your tools and not mistakenly grab someone else's and B) if someone else is borrowing your tool, it's very easy to prove ownership at a distance. You can use masking tape to design a nice long stripe on the tool body or do what he did and just spray the handles of all his tools flourescent green (pick a different color - green turned out to look pretty ugly on makita blue). You can also then mark your accessories with the same method (two wraps of tape around a probe, leave a band exposed, then spray it w/ paint, remove the tape and it's branded yours). I go the extra mile of putting my drivers license number in permanent pen somewhere on the tool body but the solvents in those marking paints are pretty good at staying bright through years of use - you can see your tools at a distance, and there is a deterrent factor as well. It may sound strange but there is no doubt this one of 5 is my 18V dewalt drill at the end of the day, and my high capacity battery someone asked to borrow when theirs died is over in another room, and I have their battery on my drill. It's well worth the price of the paint and your time and speeds up going home.

I like the case. It works well and gives you an eye view of what instrument you have inside.
