These are not held like normal scissors, the longer handle fits into the PALM of your hand and you do not even use that finger hole, and then the other hold you put your ring finger into which puts your middle and forefinger on the outside of the haft and your picky aligned on the outside of the bottom

This gives you an amazing amount of leverage, When I was first taught to hold these properly it was by cutting through 2 100 pair cat3 interconnect burial cables, SERIOUS size, and I never expected it to work, well, it did!

I have been using these snips for about a month. I am an AT&T UVerse Technician, and snips are an important part of my job. At first the snips were great, cutting through CAT5, coax, drop and ground wire with no problem. They still do. But now they will not cut the string that's inside the casing on the CAT5 or drop wire. They have a gap between the blades that a business card can fit in. I don't know if the gap was always there and has just become larger but all-in-all, I like the Fluke Networks Snips.

As a low volt tech, I use this in field everyday. It does however seem that the life of blades are not the same as they used to be, especially the serrated edge. But anyways, there are many haters out there , who don't like D Snips. Next time get a 25 or 50 pair cable and see who cuts it faster without breaking a sweat. Mine lasts for a month.

I have used Fluke products for many years now. I also own a couple Fluke meters. They make great meters! However, when I received this pair of d-snips. I was surprised by the craftsmanship. I had purchased these to replace a pair I had lost or forgot that I had loaned out. The previous pair I used for almost everything. They were made by Harris. I was looking for something similar and stumbled across these, because the model number matched the HARRIS numbers. So far, the blades don't close properly and were kind of loose. I did screw them tighter to get a consistent feel, but they loosened up again. Hey, the wire strippers worked well.

They're ok, but the bottom finger whole is too small, and oddly placed. The Fiskars DataComm scissors are much more comfortable. One thing that bothers me......I ordered the Harris D-Snips specifically, because I wanted the RED handles, but I received the Fluke version with ORANGE handles. Same snips, but I wanted red for a reason. Why list them as Harris, if Fluke is what you're going to get??

In my professional opinion, the best snips on the market. I have several pair of these and they make cutting CAT6 shielded a breeze.

They are solid, strong and offer incredible variety of snip factors.. e.g. CAT5,6, RG58, RG6 and then the fine work of cutting single wires and braiding.

Buy them, you will never go back. Forget to mention the best part, no blood blisters from getting pinched while cutting.

This is the second pair of Fluke snips I've purchased. Currently working in Afghanistan and there are times we're cutting and terminating 100's of Cat-6 cables each day. My colleagues that have the Klein standard type snips complain of hand cramps after 40 or 50 cables, and then they want to borrow my Flukes. The handle design is great. The only downside is it does catch in a cargo pocket but this can be remedied by using a tool holster instead.
