Quality construction. This tool allows you to perform diagnostic tests without compromising the waterproof seals on electrical connections.

I've shopped and shopped for the perfect probes and finally found it. Its sharp so probing the back of connectors is simple and these tips sure are sturdy and sharp. The insulated length is also a perfect addition to using these babies. I would HIGHLY recommend these to anyone.

These are *very* sharp pin probes which attach onto standard 2mm test lead metal probe tips. The attachment is a friction fit, without threading, so care is needed to prevent pulling the probe out of the TP88. I use these tips with a set of TP175E probes, and they work great for hitting fine traces on circuit boards and for probing connector shells. If your boards are conformal coated, this will go right through the coating to give a good reading.

One thing to keep in mind is that these tips are only rated for 60VDC. For typical uses this is plenty, but always keep in mind what the voltage you are measuring could be.

I like this product, but the base is already cracked - it is not compatible even with some Fluke products, and absolutely incompatible with Agilent products. The plastic is too cheap and thin for the price. Steel quality is OK, though a little bit too soft, could be hardened better. I need to sharper the pins from time to time.
It total it is a good product, it is very useful for conformal coated PCBs.

Update: While attempting to get some use out of these by cramming one into a tight wire spot, the pin pushed out the back of the plastic piece. I thought it broke at first, but it is most likely part of the design because you can actually use it now. If you do pick these up and your test leads don't neatly fit into the plastic shroud, I suggest gripping the end with a pliers and tapping the pin out the back to expose the connector. This takes a lot more pressure than it should if by design. It would have been nice to mention this somewhere on the package, or add a graphic. However, it is functional now, so back to 4 stars.

----

These probably work really well with fluke leads, the lead connector end is too deep in the socket to work with the multimeters I have. Partially my fault but it still loses a star for lack of compatibility.

The reason it's 3 stars is this is sold as a back probe set when the design is basically a really long, solid (and sharp) test lead. The test pin on these are only slightly smaller in diameter than the test leads that came with my multimeter. I was hoping these would have a half circle form to semi surround the testing wire to pass easily under weather packing - no such luck.

The other Fluke pin set for automotive (TP40) doesn't look any better, but is "flexible".
Bottom line I expected more from Fluke and assumed too much about this set.

The pins do not stay seated. I returned one set under Amazon's return policy. The probe came out of the case/handle as I was using it. The probes are covered with a rubber sleeve likely to prevent contact with the current / voltage being checked. This rubber safety sleeve can interfere with the usefulness of the probes. I was trying to use these in a deeper connector, and the sleeve bunched up, and then hung up on the connector. When I attempted to pull the probe back, the metal tip stayed in place. I thought I had a faulty set, but the same thing happened with the replacement.

I would expect these to be of better quality based on the name, but there are fairly fragile. I would have preferred the pins be coated with a non-conductive coating rather than a rubber sleeve.

Even with my issues, they do work great, but you have to be aware of the limitations.

These are great. Haven't found competitive product to do this job. Good for piercing insulation to test conductor inside without cutting open the insulation, and probing pins in multi-pin connector shells.

Only complaint is how to keep from losing them. I keep dropping them from my Fluke CAMO-C25 zipper meter pouch. There's a pocket in the cover flap to hold probes and such but I've lost a pair of these probe pins. They just "grow legs" when I'm not looking.

Suggestions?
