This review is from: The Flute (Shire Library) (Paperback)
This book, one of a series of "albums" form Shire Publications, starts out with a brief description of how flutes work and then proceeds with a history of the development of the flute from Medieval to Modern. The best thing is the photographs of the Bate collection of flutes at the University of Oxford. There are plenty of pictures of all the different incarnations of the flute. A great book for those interested in a brief overview of the history of the flute with many photographs.
