Excelent pocket guide to blowing flute
After playing for only a couple years at the tender age of 37, I found this to be an excellent and fundamental reference concerning the techniques of playing: acoustics, breath control, dynamics, history, preferred and alternate fingerings, tone, and embouchure. All of these and more were discussed in a clear yet technical manner that wasn't boring. Also some listings...

Gift
Book was a gift so I can't review, but my sister-law was happy to get it. I thought it was way over priced for its size!

After playing for only a couple years at the tender age of 37, I found this to be an excellent and fundamental reference concerning the techniques of playing: acoustics, breath control, dynamics, history, preferred and alternate fingerings, tone, and embouchure. All of these and more were discussed in a clear yet technical manner that wasn't boring. Also some listings were included for recommended repertoire. This will aid tremendously both teachers and students (future or existing).

unarguably the greatest orchestral player of this century, Mr Morris explains in clear, classical terms the basics of flute technique. To appreciate this book you really need to listen to Philharmonia and New Philharmonia records made before January 1972
