4.0 out of 5 stars Great book for all levels, December 14, 2009
This review is from: Fly Fishing Georgia: A No Nonsense Guide to Top Waters (No Nonsense Fly Fishing Guidebooks) (Paperback)
Fly Fishing Georgia is a great new entry into the world of "how to" and "where to" books for anglers - all in one package. David Cannon and Chad McClure produced a great reference as well as tying bench/coffee table book. This full-size book isn't necessarily one to easily carry in the field but the full-page maps and generous photos make this a great a read for plotting your next trip or just dreaming about places on a rainy day. References like hatch charts and high-quality photos of flies throughout the book make it more than a geography guide for getting from point A to point B.

I've fished and worked in natural resources management in Georgia for over 15 years and I found new information and places that I'd like to go. The book provides a good mix of trout and warmwater streams, lakes and even coastal destinations. The forward piece and photos and quotes throughout represent a virtual "who's who" of flyfishing in Georgia. Their tips and knowledge come through in David's words. It was interesting to see people I've fished with, worked with and learned from featured in this book.

I have no commercial or financial interest in this book but just want recommend an all-round good resource for anglers of all abilities. Pick a copy up for yourself or as gift for an angler (or both).

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book for Fly Fishermen, July 23, 2011
This review is from: Fly Fishing Georgia: A No Nonsense Guide to Top Waters (No Nonsense Fly Fishing Guidebooks) (Paperback)
This is a great book for fly fishermen (and just plain 'ole old school hook and luer fishermen, too) all over Georgia. Detailed maps and descriptions of fishing areas and vivid pictures of the areas. As far as I am concerned, this is a "must have" for any Georgia fisherman.

4.0 out of 5 stars Detailed Overview, July 20, 2010

This review is from: Fly Fishing Georgia: A No Nonsense Guide to Top Waters (No Nonsense Fly Fishing Guidebooks) (Paperback)
An excellent detailed overview of fly fishing in Georgia. Perhaps the addition of coverage of one or two warm water and salt water locations would bring better balance, but overall a good buy,
