Enjoyed learning even more than my guides had shared with me about Fly Fishing in the Upper Delaware River. Information is clearly presented and the maps are especially helpful.
If you plan to go fishing in this area...pick up a copy of Paul Weamer's book and read it before you hit the water.

Well written with good information. Anyone who wants to fish the upper Delaware should start with this book. What you need to know about access, water levels, the trout and the bugs on both branches and the main stem is here. Paul Weamer co-authored with Charles Meck the outstanding Pocket Guide to Pennsylvania Hatches. Like Pennsylvania Hatches, this is a straightforward presentation of the information without the fluff and technical gobbledygook sometimes found in fly fishing writing.

A local outfitter who knew the author recommended this book, noting that "a lot of people around here are not happy with him [the author], because he gave away too many secrets". Having read the book, I see what he meant. This informative, well organized, and clearly written book will not only help beginners dramatically shorten their "learning curve", but also help the veterans who may be familiar with flyfishing elsewhere but need specific guidance for the Upper Delaware region.

Great book with details. No question, it is worth the price. Just buy it and don't second guess yourself, you will be glad you did. I was on the West Branch about 8 days last month and used the book every day to find places to put in my canoe and take out.
