If you buy only one fly fishing book it probably shouldn't be this book (try the Orvis or LL Bean guides)- but if you buy two this should be one of them! I don't care what your skill level you will learn from this book and find yourself reading it again every year or two. Best has a clear, logical easy to read writing style. He actually explains why he makes his recommendations and advice.After rereading his advice on playing/fighting fish I was able to land a large brown (on very light line- 7x), even though I've been fishing for years I don't think I would have landed that fish if I hadn't remembered his suggestions. Also If you are looking for a gift for a fly fisher and they don't have this book then buy it for them, they will much appreciate it.
