It's been many months and nothing has grown. I also bought the cactus and I do have three little baby cacti. I'll leave it sitting on my windowsill for a few more months, but I'm not holding my breath.

In spite of what the majority of people say about this product, which I don't doubt is true for them, I have to say my experience with the terrarium has been a most positive one! My seeds germinated after only 30 days and they are growing slowly. In my point of view this is not a product for kids because of the very slow process(the plants are tiny and take up to 5 years to become adult), and the conditions you have to provide in order to succeed. What I did was to use clean rain water. I kept the terrarium indoors with artificial lighting 13 hours a day (one 40w cool daylight fluorescent bulb is enough) and the temperature indoors is naturally in the low 70's during the day and low 60's at night where I live. The seeds should not be planted 1/8 inch deep like the package says. Simply put them on top of the soil. This makes germination faster because the seeds need light. Finally keep the soil moist but not soggy and take the lid off for a minute once a week to allow fresh air to come in. That's how I did it and all 3 seeds have germinated. I'm giving this product 3 stars because the instructions are not very accurate and it takes a bit of experience and lots of patience to get a decent plant from seed. It could be very frustrating for most people.

I love these things, they are small, and fun to mess around with once they grow. This really isn't a toy, you have to know what you are doing and follow exact instructions in order for it to grow. I bought one of these a while back, the seeds are so small I lost one in the process of putting this together, you have to bury them and the exact length given in the instructions (1/4 of an inch). You have to give it just the right amount of water and make sure you don't drown it. Just follow the exact instructions because alot of people mess up in how deep the seeds must go, which is why they don't grow. Be very careful, it took about a month for mine to show any sing of life, but after that, they grew like crazy, and in a really good size, you just really need three seeds for it to fill the egg. If youre going to buy this, follow instructions carefully, don't overwater it, give it lots of sunlight, and be very patient. In the end you'll have a pretty nice bush of bug eating plants

This product had NO description! I knew that, though, and was willing to take a chance. Do NOT take a chance with this product. It's size was nothing like I thought it would be, it was almost four inches in heighth and two inches in width. There were only three seeds and they were tiny! And when I say tiny I mean very, very, very tiny. It's been almost two and a half months and nothing has sprouted. I even used rain water as instructed. I do NOT recommend this product to anyone who wants their purchase to be useful or worth the time and money spent into it.

The first surprise that awaits you is the size of this thing. It is not just small, it is minuscule. Once you get over the size, the second surprise awaits you: not a single fly trap grows in this thing.
My 6-year-old son was very disappointed and so was I.

the product is very small, and the seeds if they make it were micro as well, Not pleased with this product, sorry..

It is so annoying when sellers show pictures of a product and it is not what they send you. This is junk and a horrible waste of time. Thanks for the rip-off!

This is a horrible product. On the box, it says that the gemination rate is around 80% and that there should be 4-5 seeds inside. Neither was the gemination rate 80% nor were there even four seeds. I did everything just the way it said: I used only distilled water, I used the peat given, and I gave it he amount of sun it asked for. I bought this in October of 2010 and it is May of 2011 and still nothing. The box not only said that it was gauranteed to grow, it also said hat in one to three months it would germinate. Still nothing. A terrible product.

i purchased 2 of these venus fly traps. I did everything how the directions said to do and yet the still didnt grow. plus in one package 2 of the seeds were busted. I am very disapointed with these. i wish i could get my money back.
