great book
I bought the book for a good friend who has tied me some beautiful flies. I read some of it and was really impressed with the fishing instructions and tips as well as the tying techniques and patterns. Most of the book is black and white but so is Caddisflies by Gary Lafontane and I can live with that. My friends has really enjoyed the book as well.

Disappointed Southern Fisherman
The only color in this "how-to book" was on the front & back cover, and two pages of color photos of flies. I firmly believe that color is essential when creating a book about fly tying. This book was basic and bland.

A great book,

One heck of a book. Very well put together, full of information that will help even the greenest of beginners get out there catching Bass and other Panfish. Maybe could be better if some of the photographs were in color, but the text covers everything and manages to make you think you're out there catching them. The author of this book has also done a great job in covering what equipment etc is needed. A must for anyone thinking about going for panfish and/or bass on the fly.
