I am an avid sports fan and reader. Simply put, Jakki Clarke hit this one out of the park. It is as if I was havig a fun afternoon talking sports with a locker room full of hockey greats, the author did an amazing job of getting into the lives of these players and she has allowed us along for the ride.

I highly reccomend this book to any sports fan or parent of a young athlete.

I will certainly be on the lookout for the next book by Jakki Clark.

Bought this "hardback" book to give as a Christmas gift. The paper they use to make comic books is a FAR BETTER quality then what they used in this thing they call a book. The pages are bound together so crocked that about 20 of the pages stick out about an 1/8 of an inch further then the rest of the pages. If I had seen this book at a garage sale, I would not have paid more then 25 cents for it. "If" I do gift this thing, I feel forced to have to have to apologize to the person I give it to for how cheaply it is made and looks. It looks like a school kids project that was put together in someones basement with a bunch of scrap material they had laying around. As a result I will have to spend more money to buy a proper looking gift for giving. It is by far the worst purchases I ever made online especially from Amazon. I have not read this book it but, if the story is anything like the quality it's only good for one thing, using to start fires.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a quick read, couldn't put it down. Very entertaining. Humorous and nice insights into all of my favorite players. Jakki did a wonderful job writing. I love the format she uses referencing other sports headlines of the timeline in the book. I highly recommend this book.

The players, although they came from different parts of the US or Canada, all had a common thread. They spoke of having kids play the game for fun and not the end-all, be-all of competition. The author's father wouldn't have it that way (!!!) but it was nice to read that through many players.
