Book Description

February 2002
When Silicon Valley's most controversial financier attacks management of a high-tech company he gets blackballed with a brutal murder. Details of David Williams' appalling crime soar in news media blitzes egged on by a wayward homicide inspector. And Williams' enemies build up intrigue with dirt for exposes revealing his secretive, private financial empire and suspicions he's made millions in drug trafficking. Despite Williams' apparent guilt, two beautiful, prominent San Francisco women rush to his aid. They draft Charles Douglas, a well-known attorney, to defend him. But incriminating evidence against Williams, his odd persona, racy love life and divisive dealings in Silicon Valley, stymie Douglas. Worst of all the risqué affair of Douglas' married niece with his client traps him into abandoning the law-biding code he's sworn to as a lawyer. Yet it is duplicity in Douglas' own marriage that ultimately overwhelms him. These difficulties confront not only Douglas and Williams, but the women they love, with disastrous ruin. Comments by reviewers: "This is a gripping story told in vivid, spell-binding detail," Martel Scroggin, Author of The Sheepshooters.

"A great mystery with a moving love story and in-your-face insight on Silicon Valley," Robert Burger, Co-Author of Eye of Evil.

5.0 out of 5 stars hi-tech thriller comes close to reality, June 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Flying for an Angel (Paperback)
The way the author applies his real-life knowledge into this story makes 'flying for an angel' all the more convincing and believable to the reader, and highly entertaining. This one has all the gadgets of mystery blended with sheer humor and human drama while still remaining an effective & suspenseful hi-tech thriller based in silicon valley before the dot com boom.
I highly recommend this passionately written mystery novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars BRILLIANT READ!!!, July 19, 2002
By
This review is from: Flying for an Angel (Paperback)
Every suspense reader should read this. It is highly unpredictable and immeasurably convincing with Harrison Beardsley's knowledge of silicon valley/blending it in with a not-so traditional mystery story of murder, betrayal etc. I finished this in a few sittings it kept me so hooked, I don't want to give away too much about the story, but i just want to recommend this to readers and the give the author credit where it is due. A perfect book for the times of scandals and corporate corruption, unique characters, suspense, plotline, everything, you have to read this!
