A game that is great fun, easy to play, and has high replay value.,

Nuclear War is a fantastic game! It is fun, funny, and keeps your interest time after time. Every game is different, and it uses devious strategy and blood-thirsty aggression in concert to win. It's all the fun of a nuclear war without the pesky fallout and collapse of society. One unique thing about this game that I really enjoy is that there is no guarantee of anyone winning. It is totally possible for all players to eliminate each other and have no one left. The ingenious "Final Retaliation" when you lose makes it quite possible to leave no winners, only losers...just like in a real Thermonuclear War!

"Got Change for 25 Million Population?" is something you'd only hear during play of this game. I've owned my copy of this for *years* and taught my nephews how to play. It doesn't take long to play, and is quite enjoyable despite the macabre overtones. Of course what makes this game interesting is that it's quite possible for *nobody* to win! (this really pissed my younger sister off when I played with her) but of course with real actual Nuclear War it's realistic that Nobody Can Win.

I first played this game when I was about 14. I didn't see it again until I ordered it from Amazon, and let me tell you, it's just as fun now as it was then. The instructions are a little confusing, but once you start playing, it all comes together. Looking forward to getting the expansions for it. Strogly recommended.

I bought this game as a new addition for our dorm's board game stash. It was an instant hit. The rules are easy to learn, and there is massive replay value. There is no better feeling than launching a nuke uncontested, and spinning the little arrow to see how much damage you dish out. The "final retaliation" rule is also great fun, allowing any eliminated players to immediately launch everything in their arsenal. You may wonder, "couldn't this lead to a huge chain reaction that kills everyone"? Well, much like real nuclear war, sometimes there are no winners. But, unlike real nuclear war, it's always a ton of fun!I only have one quick recommendation. When you first get the game, you may be tempted to immediately start cutting out the population cards (which are printed on an 8"x12" piece of card stock). I recommend that, instead, you scan or make copies of the population cards just in case you lose them. We were playing this on a trip, and a bunch of the cards disappeared. Had we scanned the population card image, we could have made replacements.

This is a fun card game we used to play back in the days before Munchkin and Flux and MTG etc....etc.... simple straight forward and funny too. you get to be the head of a country and decide how to play politics with the other countries and decide if you will be diplomatic or if you will launch the alert aircraft and prepare the NUKES!

I have been playing this game since 1988. It is a great game for 5-6 people. It is also best when you play 2-4 times in a row. Everyone will want to destroy the person that won last time. This is a great game as relates to influence. Every game you are trying to convince the other players not to bomb you. There are two expansion sets, Proliferation and Escalation. Great game for parties.

The sirens are sounding. The missiles are on the way. Time to "duck and cover".Would you like to play a game? Years ago I used to play this game with a bunch of buddies in the Navy. Yesterday I played it again with my wife and adult daughter, both of whom could be described as "peaceful." They enjoyed the game immensely, making sound effects as they launched their missiles and laughing as millions perished. It took them just a bit to get the hang of things, but they very quickly picked up on the idea and started picking on me. Warning: don't attack Mom or daughter will get upset, don't attack daughter or Mom will get upset. So what was I suppose to do when my wife launched the first rocket, even though it was just a "missile test"? (She forgot she had to load a warhead onto the missile.) The game plays better with more people. I would recommend at least 4. |
