Adventure, humor, drama in NavCad training,
By Kenneth J. Van Dellen "Ken Van Dellen" (Grosse Pointe Park, MI United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: With Flying Colors (Paperback)
This book gives good insight into the life of a NavCad (Naval Cadet) in the fifties. It recounts many humorous, dramatic, and tragic events that, although labeled as fiction, have to be based on the author's personal experience while in training to become a jet fighter pilot. I found myself tensing while reading of some of Tom Fitzgerald's near misses, as he learned such things as instrument flying, and laughed out loud at the antics of some of his friends. In addition to lots of good entertainment, I've learned some jargon that gives greater understanding of today's news reports.
