Editorial Reviews

The Flying Eyes are a heavy psych band hailing from Baltimore, Maryland. Since forming in 2007, the group has played with many renowned bands such as The Raveonettes, The Black Angels, Witch and Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys (@SXSW2009). The Flying Eyes have also created an annual, home-grown music festival, "Farm Fest", in Manchester, Maryland. This past year they headlined the event, drawing over 400 people to the Carney Family Farm. Heavy, acid-tinged blues-rock cooked with melodic, psychedelic pop. Haunted by the ghosts of The Doors, Pink Floyd and Cream while defining their own unique sound.

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful By Mike Reed VINE VOICE on November 1, 2010
Format: Audio CD
Band is from Baltimore, Maryland and this looks to be their first CD release. It's actually two five track EP's - 'Bad Blood' and 'Winter' combined. Best described as acid-tinged blues rock. Tunes here that had me totally drawn in were "Lay With Me", "Bad Blood" (great psychedelic guitar work) with it's thought-provoking lyrics, "Don't Point Me At Your God", the out-standing "She Come To Me" (awesome Zeppelin-like melody with good organ), "We Are Not Alive" and the airy psychedelic "King Of Nowhere". Need to also mention that the vocals on this effort have a rather strong resemblance to that of the late Jim Morrison. Line-up: Will Kelly - guitar & vocals, Mac Hewitt - bass & vocals, Adam Bufano - guitar & organ and Elias Schutzman - percussion. Should appeal to fans and followers of (obviously) the Doors, Cream, Pink Floyd (first three albums) and possibly The Cult.
