When asked for a "baby sling," this is not what I meant. This looks like the most impractical pain-in-the-back ever invented. Why would anyone want to strap an entire carseat to oneself?

I'm using this with a Safety 1st Onboard 35. The basic concept is pretty good... but this really does not work with a larger car seat. Don't know how it would be with a smaller one, but for a 35 pound capacity bucket seat, it's downright unsafe. Once, when I did not have a good grip on the seat itself, it pivoted, and if my baby hadn't been strapped in he would have been on the ground.

As it is, it merely provides a little bit of weight distribution, not the hands-free capability I am used to from the Stay In View I used with my older child. That carseat had an integrated foot-to-head strap and no hard handle at all (much preferable.)

This strap tends to slip and turn and move, cannot be fixed with the strap in one position on my car seat. Because of how my car seat is designed, if I position the straps the way they are in the picture, the whole thing is "top heavy" and will pivot toward the baby's head, which is worse than useless. And the straps are not stable at the top of the carrier, nor can I put them on the inside of the handle, which might make things more secure. I can't tighten or lengthen the horizontal strap across the top, and it's either too big or not big enough for stability.

It is marginally better than carrying the thing by the handle alone, but mostly the only time I use it is to get the carseat into and out of the car at home. It makes a decent strap for the empty carseat, but requires too much attention to be really useful for hauling the baby.

I felt as though this was one of the most useful baby gear items I purchased when I had my first. He was a big baby and I always had my arms full of things - work bag, purse, diaper bag, pump bag, etc. and freeing up both hands to be able to safely get out the door was a huge help. I also developed tendonitis in my wrist from carrying the carrier but this helped to resolve that problem.

I did like using slings and wraps also but for transport from car to indoors this was easy to not have to unbuckle baby, wrap baby, etc in a parking lot (in the middle of winter).

Now we are expecting #2 and I'll have a toddler to hold hands with and all the same bags. Ideally, I could use an extra set of hands but in the meantime, the flying falcon will have to do.

Seriously love this thing.

To much trouble to install. Don't like it pulling me down. Felt like I would fall over.

I too am an avid baby wearer and this car seat carrier has NOTHING to do with baby wearing. This car seat carrier is for carrying your baby, in an infant car seat, to and from places where you would not bring a stroller or carrier (e.g. a restaurant, friends houses). Even a short two-three minute walk from a parking space to your destination can be very difficult while lugging a heavy and cumbersome car seat. The seat bangs against the side of your leg, makes it very difficult to carry diapers bags or other things, and limits your ability to help your other kiddos (if you have them). I did not have this car seat carrier with my first two babes and I can still remember, VERY CLEARLY, the dreaded infant car seat days. I am so excited to have it with my third child!!! And yes, I will be wearing my baby tons and no I won't be walking around with the car seat hanging off of me for long walks or visits as some reviewers have suggested. Duh.

This is a great product, that has made my life much easier in the few weeks I've had it. It is easier to get my kids in & out of the car, and to walk my oldest (3) in at preschool & pick him up after school. I love my sling for long periods out of the car, but taking my now 8 month old out of the car seat & into the sling just to run in to preschool or go into the house was not practical. Now I can put the seat on my shoulder with the flying falcon, and still have both hands free to help my 3 year old in and out of the car, hold his hand in busy parking lots, or just to carry bags & things into the house quicker & easier! I find the weight of the car seat (we have a Graco SafeSeat) much easier & more comfortable to carry with this than with the handle that is part of the seat. My shoulders & elbows were sore, and I had lots of bruises on my lower legs from bumping into them with the car seat before. Now I don't have any pain, though if I try to stand or walk for long with this on, it gets VERY heavy. My 8 month old seems to like this, too. He's got a better view of the world, and a smoother ride than when I had to carry the car seat in my hand. I would (and do) recommend this to parents - particularly if they have one or more toddler/preschooler.

Not sure why the negative reviews, the images clearly show what the product does. And I'm assuming a lot of the people are NOT placing it on the car seat correctly. We've had the Falcon for about 7+ months and it's pretty handy. If you're looking for a sling that holds just a baby then look for one of those, not this. This is for people that take the car seat out with the child still in it. For example, you take a trip to Target and your baby falls asleep and you don't want to wake him or her so you leave him in the car seat and carry the thing around by the handle which is a common thing I see dads do (and a lot of moms too). Probably placing the seat on a shopping cart, well this product makes it easier to hold rather than lugging it by the handle which is a pain for me, kinda turning it into a duffle bag or side bag. I do have a couple gripes with it though, the strap could be a little longer for larger guys and also it's kind of a pain to put in and take off even though it's all Velcro.
