As I read through the first half of the book I was just amazed at the life Gaddabout lived. The things he saw, the placed he'd been. The detail provided really does a good job of taking you back. There is laugh-out-loud humor, great fishing stories, and his glass-half-full attitude is contagious. I really enjoyed reading this book about a man who seemed to always find himself on the leading edge of so many things that are commonplace today - Television, TV marketing, flying, and modern fishing tackle. I would recommend this book to a person who enjoys historical biographies and good fishing stories. There isn't much on his actual fishing techniques and equipment for fishing - so don't expect a fishing guide or instructional info. There are a lot of folks who grew up in the 50's who remember watching him on TV, but he was before my time. Still, I really enjoyed reading his story.
