5.0 out of 5 stars "Flying Models" by Don Ross, December 26, 1999
This review is from: Flying Models: Rubber, CO2, Electric & Micro Radio Control - Tips & Techniques for Beginner & Expert, Book 2 (Paperback)
This companion to Don Ross's "Rubber Powered Model Airplanes" covers updated information on flying and building rubber powered models. But best of all it now includes information related to flying the new immensely popular micro models. Micro radio control models powered by electric, CO2, as well as rubber are included in this book. Most everything needed to be successful with small model airplanes is included in this book. Everything from tools, materials and construction to flight trimming is addressed. I would highly recommend this book as well as Don's first book "Rubber Powered Model Airplanes" as two books that most any small model airplane enthusiast should have in their library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flying Models, December 21, 2008

Wonderful little book. Written by a master modeler for modelers in an easy to read and comprehend style. It's a really good read for anyone who has or wants to have enough skill to build and trim their own model planes. Far too many have succumbed to the dumbed down practice if buying someone else's toys these days, it seems. This book will go a long way toward correcting that deficiency.

As a long time modeler, I'd say this is one outstanding book. Read both of Don's books for an excellent introduction to stick and tissue modeling (real modeling) and much more. Well written by a master of the craft.

This book was recommended by the hobby group from which I purchased several balsa-wood model airplane kits for projects this winter. It was easy to order on Amazon. Com and it arrived quickly. It covers the basics of flying models in much detail and I am delighted with the purchase. Thank You.

If you really want to get involved in flying model aircraft, ones that you actually build yourself, then you should have this book. If you have learned to fly on models that were build by someone else and would like to try your hand at seeing something that you've created take to the sky, then you should have this book. If you're an old time modeler that would enjoy learning a few surprising new tricks, then you will enjoy reading this book. If you have a youngster ( grandchild, niece or nephew, student that might find this an introduction to math and science, or what have you.) then perhaps you should give them this book (after you read it).
I liked the book.
