Excellent for the beginner!,

This is probably still the best book for the new glider pilot. Good photographs and good illustrations are an ideal adition to anthing your flight instructor might tell you. Should be read before first solo, and is a good general preparation for the theoretical tests. After your first solo you'll probably want to Helmut's "Cross Country Soaring" book
