5.0 out of 5 stars Gliders in the Dark by Nancy Wells-Gosling, March 16, 2004

This review is from: Flying Squirrels: Gliders in the Dark (Smithsonian Nature Book) (Hardcover)
This hard to find book has the best information I have found on Southern Flying Squirrels. It is wonderfully informative about their behavior as told by the author from observations of her own squirrel and of wild flyers. Since flying squirrels are nocturnal, few people know that they exist, and seemingly little accurate information is available in non-fiction, easy to understand writing. This book provides truthful information for the person interested in this species and rehabilitators as well. Included in this short but fact-filled book are numerous excellent photographs that illustrate the skills and appeal of these tiny and special squirrels.

5.0 out of 5 stars flying squirrels, January 25, 2009
This review is from: Flying Squirrels: Gliders in the Dark (Smithsonian Nature Book) (Hardcover)
There is no better book on Flying Squirrels to be found anywhere. Nancy Wells-Gosling tells, in detail, of the flyers, both northern and southern, that she observed in the wild as well as in controled conditions. The book is now out of print, and so rather pricy, but it is worth every penny if you really want to learn about flyers.
