I'm no expert on foam rolling (having only recently heard about it) but my chiropractor recommended it when I asked him about it. I don't have IT band problems but am always looking for useful (and inexpensive) techniques to increase my flexibility and enhance my P90X training regimen. My chiropractor loaned me one of his while I waited the week for this one to arrive (for which he says he paid more than twice the cost of this product) and honestly I like this one quite a bit better than his more expensive one. His seemed too hard for me personally but this one, while it's solid and holds its shape perfectly, seems to have just the right amount of give to make using it much more bearable. It really does seem to work - I feel nice & loose and relaxed afterwards, and it helps relieve low back tension in between my chiropractic adjustments. Excellent product, great price, highly recommended. (And I checked prices on Exertools' web site and Amazon is definitely the better value.)

Its not hollow in the picture, its not hollow in the description, but the middle ~2 inches of my foam roller is hollow.

When received, this foam roller had a 1 1/2" diameter hole all the way through the center of the roller. This means that the roller will collapse under any weight and not be sufficient for working the IT Band and the surrounding muscles. The roller must be solid to work/massage the interior muscles near the IT band. Don't waste your money.

Great Product
It will get the knots out. Buy a second one for the office. Good for back, legs, sides, etc. Foam is firm.

A GREAT STARTER ROLLER
If your a gym person, you need to add this roller to your warm-up. There are 3, white, blue and black being the
most firm. A great way to stretch out those legs and more.

Good bang for the buck

Love it
This definitely works on getting the the IT band loosened up. Hurts the first few time you use it since your IT band will probably be VERY tight, but well worth it.
