So I read a bunch of the posted reviews here and purchased this holster anyway. I think a few of the writers have never carried on the ankle before so some of the posts amount to those whiners who think comfort and convenience in some way trump personal safety and self-defense. First rule of gunfighting is...... have a gun. If you don't have a gun when you need it you are screwed.

This ankle rig works flawlessly for the LCR with no fighting or modification as opposed to the Ankle Glove from Galco where you basically have to break-in the holster to the gun. Also, this holster holds the gun snug in the holster without the use of a snap or strap. Of course, this make the draw and re-holster of the gun faster and more "convenient" LOL! Anyone who has purchased the Fobus Paddle holster understands how this works. Basically there is a tension screw that you can adjust to make the holster easier to draw or tighter. Takes 3 seconds to adjust.

If you are picky and keep your wallet and keys on the mantle rather than in your pocket (lazy much?), then this is not the holster for you. Keep your gun in the glove box or safe and quit complaining about how inconvenient it is to carry a holstered gun. If you want to have a inexpensive comfortable holster that works then get this one as a back-up to belt carry.... or better yet for your back-up gun!!

The .357 LCR is about 20.5 oz. loaded so it isn't really a heavy gun.... lighter than the Glock 26 unloaded! If you have the .38 LCR you know its even lighter so it might be even more easy to wear if weight is an issue to you. Also for comfort this holster has really nice padding so that you don't get blisters from carrying all day.

I like to ankle carry when in my car. I have only found two ankle holsters I like, the Galco ankle glove, and this Fobus. The holster fit is perfect on the gun, a Ruger 357 magnum LCR. Not too tight, not too loose. Comfortable for all day wear, and no retention strap to get in the way.

I bought this with high hopes. However, it slips down to the lowest part of my ankle with my first step and stays there. It becomes exposed below my pant leg and when walking feels like it is flopping around.

It may work better with lightweight scandium or plastic framed guns, but a full steel SP 101 is just too heavy for it. It will actually fit a Taurus M85 too, but being a full steel heavy gun I have the same problems as for the SP 101.

This is my first Fobus product. I Bought this for a Ruger SP101 with 2 1/4 barrel "Snub". The construction is excellent, With the suede lined pad the comfort is also very good even when wearing it all day. Weapon is very secure and the retention can be adjusted with 1 screw.
Directions tell the buyer to wear it for a few hours "without" a weapon holstered for the first break in period. I would use a little Loctite on the adjustment screw once you get the retention where you feel comfortable with the draw of the weapon. This holster is a great value compared to other holsters that are made for the Ruger SP101. Fobus has a new customer.

I wanted a good concealable ankle holster for my Ruger LCR. I have several Fobus paddle holsters, and I really like them. I figured their ankle holster would be a good choice, however this thing is just too bulky. I tried to wear it under the loosest pair of jeans I own, and it still looked like I was trying to hide a football in my pants leg. The construction of the holster is superb, which is to be expected from any Fobus product. I'm a medium build guy, so maybe this holster would be easier to conceal for bigger fellas. Three stars for a well made product, just too hard to conceal.

sp101 is too heavy for this holster, won't stay up and you need flared legged pants for it to be hidded.

Found holster to be comfortable to wear once properly adjusted. As with other Fobus holsters it secures great yet allows for fast retrieval.

The holster portion of this setup was very nice. It held my LCR securely, which is needed with the gun being hammerless and there being no securing strap to slow your draw down. I was unable to use the setup with how the ankle strap is designed. I thought the padding and material would be more comfortable then other holsters, and it wasn't bad. My issue is that I could not get it to stay secure to my ankle without it being so tight that I was cutting circulation off to my foot. I found the holster would slide down just enough to bob off the top of my shoe, especially after going up/down stairs, and I was not comfortable with that. If you plan on wearing combat boots or high top shoes you may have better luck on that front. I do plan on swapping the ankle rig for the paddle holster. I really liked how the gun sat in the holster.
