5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun with some definite graphical flaws May 10, 2014
Platform for Display:PC
I spent 7 hours playing this game yesterday. 7 hours. I don't do that. Usually games, even good games, don't manage to keep my attention for that long, I get tired, I need a break.

Not this one. You level up just fast enough to want to keep going, the crafting system is a lot of fun and is tied to cosmetic changes to your character, so you actually get to to make your guy look more awesome and choose what effects his additional armor modifications will have.

Combat is really tough. Expect to die. I've had to use a trick combination of swordsmanship, fireballs, crossbow bolts, and traps to survive some of the tougher battles.

As for the story and characters, I love it so far. It's just lighthearted enough to make me laugh, while being dark enough to keep me engaged. Characters do use regular obscenities and profanities (something I could really do without), so if that sort of thing bothers you, this may not be the game for you.

As far as graphics, the game's graphics feel a teeny bit dated. The textures aren't as good as they can be, sometimes bystanders are literal graphical stand ins that do not move. I've had a few occasional glitches with movement too, but nothing game breaking or anything that hurt me. This sort of thing doesn't bother me at all because the core experience is so fun. If you like action rpgs, this is a great game to buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars RPG Drought quenched by flame? May 12, 2014
By LRic

Just Finished this game and aside from an unlike-able main character, at times, I actually enjoyed it more then I was expecting after reading the MetaCritic reviews. Go figure it must be the RPG drought right now that made this muddy water drinkable.

The Main character's personality is to say the least, unremarkable. He feels like an extra from a game of thrones book to be honest. However the game itself was solid and good fun. It played like Dragon age 2 when it came to the story line and behaved like the witcher 2 when it came to the sustenance.

If you like Witcher 2 or Dragon age 2 you should play this one just because it can be considered a yum snack in between Dragon age 3 and Withcer 3.

5.0 out of 5 stars Actually a great game! May 15, 2014

The game is actually very fun. It's not super easy and takes some strategy. Wish my teammates were more useful, but still worth a play. I would recommend picking this game up!

Meh, It had some decent mechanics in combat and graphics were modern(DX9 pushed to the Max) but the gameplay was sub-par nothing really new. The crafting system is simple and gets the job done. But if you are looking for an indepth 3rd person RPG look elsewhere others do it better I think. The voice overs were "meh" and dialogue was "meh" it felt like something that should be on the Sci-Fi channel haha..

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good rpg December 25, 2014

No clue why this game has such bad reviews on Metacritic. Perhaps it was bad out of the gate and was patched into something decent. I give it 7 out of 10. Plays a lot like the Witcher, but not nearly as in-depth. Graphics, voice acting, music and story are all good. It's not that long, perhaps 20 hours. If you get it in the ten to twenty range, you can't go wrong.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent title August 7, 2014

If you like Dark Souls you'll like this while not as hard as Dark Souls and a lot more cheeky later in the game depending on party make up it's all still in the same vein. Starts out slowly but seems to pick up steam around mid game. Would still wait for this to go on sale while it's a great game I think 20.00 and lower would have been a better price point.
