Finally, worth the wait, June 22, 2005
This review is from: Focusing Screen Type P for F4s (Electronics)
A very nice camera I have to say. I really like the autofocus features and metering. Compared to my D1 I believe it takes better pictures in clarity and sharpness, and the white balance seems to work better.
The menus and controls are much easier to use and it doesn't shut off before it finishes writing all pictures taken in continuous mode, a gripe I have with the D1. Write acceleration works too, about 5x faster with the cards that sport this feature. This camera also has phenomenal battery life, especially compared to the D1.
I can't think of any negatives except that I needed to buy a new flash and pay for Nikon Capture, you would think for a camera of this price they would throw in the software.
I've waited a long time for this camera and am very happy. I think I can live with 12.4Mp for quite some time.

A Nikon for the ages - D2X, May 18, 2005
This review is from: Focusing Screen Type P for F4s (Electronics)
This camera is so good a lot of people think it's bad. That is to say, it's resolution is so high that it exposes every bad thing about your lower quality lenses or photographic technique. To say that it's the best-ever digital camera would not be an overstatement. It's autofocus, metering and color are truly wonderful and I have no criticisms. A solid build and stellar performance in every way. This one won't be obsolete in a year.
