I bought this travel guide never having traveled to Chicago, and after reading the majority of it, I felt I had a good handle on what to do and where things were located. I feel they give excellent advice that seems unbiased unlike your hotel conceirge will be. I highly, highly recommend eating at Weber Grill if you go to Chicago...well worth the hour wait (you'll read about it in this guide)

Another wonderful travel guide from Fodor's. Packed with information but yet so beautifully organised that you can easy find what you need. Apart from the regular destinations, it gives an insider's perspective of the city that makes it really special. For example, the places where you can get Chicago's best deep pan pizzas and ht dogs. The style of writing is very engaging. I have stared loving the Fodor guides so much that I don't start a tour without going through a Fodor guide. It sure makes a great difference to my trips !

I bought this to use during a recent one week stay in Chicago. It was not as easy to use as other guide books I own.

I will not buy Fodor's guide's again... after receiving this one and feeling that it just didn't give practical information, I got the Frommer's version. It was much more informative about neighborhoods, museums, where to eat, where to stay, etc.
