4.0 out of 5 stars Accurate and fun to read, April 9, 2005
This review is from: Fodor's Costa Rica 2005 (Fodor's Gold Guides) (Paperback)
Much of my travel experience has relied on the Lonely Planet guides, or the "Let's Go" series. Much to my surprise, my wife and I recently went to Costa Rica and found Fodor's to be perfect. The descriptions of the hotels, the culture, and the attractions were right in line with our experience. It is possible that we were wearing "Fodor-colored glasses." Regardless, we found it to be a wonderful book and well worth the cost.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tried them all and this one was best, January 22, 2008
This review is from: Fodor's Costa Rica 2005 (Fodor's Gold Guides) (Paperback)
I took this book with me during a summer abroad program in Costa Rica in 2006. The other students I went with had all of the other guidebooks between them but Fodor's was the best by far. Everyone ended up using mine and that's how we found countless great deals on everything we needed. DEFINITELY THE BOOK TO BUY!!

This review is from: Fodor's Costa Rica 2005 (Fodor's Gold Guides) (Paperback)
I purchased Fodor's and Lonely Planet's Costa Rica Guides.
Fodor's is easier to use - it isn't boringly laborious to read. The layout and reader-friendly format makes it a pleasure both to scan and to read at lentgth when subtexts catch one's interest. This is the book we'll take with us to Costa Rica.
