DO NOT GO TO DISNEY WORLD WITHOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
By
This review is from: Fodor's Walt Disney World® with Kids 2007 (Special-Interest Titles) (Paperback)
I received my book and I have not put it down. It goes wherever I do. I have read it front to back, highlighted in it, made notes in it. It is FULL of invaluable information for families with children of all ages. My children that are going with us are 3 and 12, so with such a big age difference, I am determined to make the most of the trip and see that they both get to do most, if not all, of the things they want to do.
I bought one of the other guides that was from an "ex-employee" of Disney World. I could have very well saved my $20. This book had all of the same information and more. The other, I had to download from the website, put into a notebook, etc. This book is handy to carry around everywhere. I cannot imagine going to Disney World without this book's guidance. Thanks to this book, I am positive I will get my money's worth on this trip. Tammy Holland Cash, Texas

Great book, kids or no kids,

My wife and I are empty nesters, and we have visited WDW both with and without kids. We recently visited again, spending an entire week there at a Disney hotel. We still take Kim Wright Wiley's book, because so much of the good advice applies no matter how many kids are in your party (even zero). For example, all the information about where to stay is an essential first step in planning a trip. And Wiley is right about planning most of your meals ahead of time. We made priority seating reservations and often noticed that those who came up to the podium without reservations were turned away or offered a 2-hour-plus wait. Her observations about which restaurants are best for kids, and those best without kids, are right on. It's also valuable to have all her latest information about new attractions, such as Expedition Everest, which we hadn't seen before this trip. You must get this book before you go to WDW!

I have been a fan of the Walt Disney World With Kids series for several years. We have three children and visit Disney World regularly, so I've been in the parks with everything from newborns to teenagers. I have always found the advice in the book to be accurate and practical - it's clear the author has children herself and is speaking with plenty of "real world" experience. In contrast to the other Disney books on the market, I find this guide to be the most realistic in terms of how much you can actually expect to see and do when traveling with children. The comparisons of Disney hotels are especially helpful (we've tried several over the years and have found the book's descriptions to be right on the money) as are the "scare factor" ratings for various attractions. All in all, this is a travel guide that is definitely worth the money!

Pretty good, on many counts,

A useful guide for anyone planning a trip to Disney World. Especially helpful are the charts in each chapter that give detailed information on attractions. The information includes a brief rating on the ride or show, the length, and any minimum height requirements. As I got this "2007" guide for Christmas, six months before our trip, I should say that there were some pieces of information that were outdated when I got it in 2006.
However, the publisher has done a respectable job to gather and include information from families who have visited Disney. These insights apply to the parks and surrounding resorts. Its not perfect, but proved to be one of several useful tools in planning our family vacation.

This book is terrific. Birnbaums WDW book was always a recomendation of mine when I was a Travel Agent. This one specifically geared toward families with kids is over the top great. Hints are so good, we are going , a family group of 10 to WDW in end Sept. with 4 kids, 7 and under. So many suggestions are right on the mark for our situation. Recommend it for everyone.

I recently came back from a trip to Disneyworld with two 4.5 yr olds and one 2 year old. I found this book easy to read, and refer to as I made a plan for each park and prepared myself each night for the next day's park. I felt the scare ratings were right on target, the attraction descriptions/favorites and must-see list by age were perfect, the dining recommendations for character and other dinners matched our experiences. The only additions I would like are a touring plan and update how painful the Country Bear Jamboree experience can be for adults.

My 12 year old daughter used this book to guide our family through a 7 day Disney vacation, visiting all 4 theme parks, the water parks and many other features and services at Walt Disney World. I'd been to Disney World 19 years ago (before our 3 kids came) and was expecting a week of long lines and not being able to see as much as we'd like. This book was worth 10 times it's price! We were able to navigate Disney World like pro's, and we only waited in 1 line all week, and saw all of the attractions that we had wanted to. The book was right-on with it's suggestions about when to see and do things. I would never go back there without this book.

We had four books we reviewed for our recent trip, three "adult" and one "for kids, by kids" book. We read this book once, but honestly didn't review or refer back to it after we had read it. It seemed to lack the depth of other guides, yet didn't seem to have enough of the kids focus. For our purposes, one adult guidebook for the adults, and one "for kids, by kids" book for the kids was the way to go.

A Must Have for Parents Traveling to Disney World w/ Kids,
By
This review is from: Fodor's Walt Disney World® with Kids 2007 (Special-Interest Titles) (Paperback)
This is an absolute MUST HAVE. With this book I have been able to plan out our trip to Disney without any headaches. The book gives you hints for everything such as the best spots for the different parades, the best restaurants for your family, the best rides, shows and activities to do wtih your kids based on ages and how fun or scary each event is. Almost all of the suggestions and opinions are based on other families' feedback. I have lent this book out to three other families and they all say this is the best book. One friend bought the Frommer's version and got rid of it after I lent her this one! She just raved about how good it is!
