This is a good, small-sized guide to the island. Good descriptions of dining and lodging alternatives, as well as information on the island overall. Especially appreciated the reader comments sprinkled in here and there.

The most helpful part of this book is that it gives you a short description of most of the things to do and places to stay on the island. By reading it, you get an idea what you should research further. Other than that, this book was only marginally helpful. I found much better and more specific information on the Frommers website and ended up just printing out what I wanted. The book does list a few things to do, but there are no directions. Moreover, there is just a surface description, not really any details. This book might work for you if you plan to stay in one of the big resorts, go on tours, or just hang out all week, but it is not good for the type of traveler who wants to take the road less traveled and really learn about Aruba.

I ordered this book so we could prepare for a dream family vacation but it came after we left :( The info is good but it took way too long to get to us and I allowed almost 3 weeks.... If you are thinking about going to Aruba, go!! You won't be sorry.
