I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my wife as we are going to Aruba in a couple of months. Its a nice, concise overview of the island and it gave us alot of great ideas on what we will want to do. It has alot of pictures to give you the concept of some areas and the advice seems fairly balanced. The size will make it easy to bring this along with us.

Went on vacation to Aruba.
Had to book to review and was a nice asset to the internet review we had completed.
It was also portable while there unlike the internet at times.
Like Fodor's works - would recommend.

Sadly, there are few books on traveling to Aruba. In most cases, this beautiful island is included as part of larger guides. Thus one is left purchasing a bulkier travel guide with extra information and a greater cost. I purchased this book for a trip to Aruba this past January. Normally, my husband and I purchase DK Eyewitness Travel Guides, and we were terribly disappointed to find there was no DK Aruba guide. After reviewing what little was available online, we decided to purchase the Fodor's guide. We found it surprisingly good and detailed. The island is fairly simply to traverse by car, and most of the time the directions and locations were fairly accurate. The restaurant guide also came in handy. It is a compact guide thus it is easy to out in a carry on as well as take with you on explorations of the island.I only gave it four stars because the guide could have used more maps and pictures, as the DK guides provide. However, for bring one of the fewest guides solely on Aruba, it is the best one.
