5.0 out of 5 stars Sooooooo Helpful!, December 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We bought this little guide as we were getting ready to visit the Keys for the first time. It served us so well- like a tour guide in my pocket! It takes you through all of the Keys, beautifully organized by the different islands, with maps that allows you quick reference to "key" places. We used it to visit the "off beat" places that many tourists miss but makes sure to guide you to the very popular attractions as well. Thanks to this little book, our reservations were made before we left and we were not disappointed. This trip for us was a short one, only 6 days, and without this guide, we would not have made the most out of the time we had. From places to stay, things to see and do, and historical references we felt totally oriented to the islands before the trip began. It made the trip easy, relaxing and a whole lot of fun!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Guide to a Strange Place, September 21, 2008
Of all the major guidebooks, Fodor's "Florida Keys" is one of the best of the current offerings. This guide is excerpted from "Fodor's Florida," and is just the thing for those visiting, mostly, Key West, and the other keys along that shimmering chain of islands.

The reviews of inns, restaurants, and attractions are fair, detailed, and honestly critical. Sixty of the 208 pages are devoted to Key West and the Dry Tortugas. The section covering day sails, schooner trips, snorkeling, and kayaking options in Key West is, however, surprisingly thin -- Danger Charters and popular day trips aboard the catamarans Fury and Sebago aren't even mentioned. Decent maps are included, but there are no photographs (I like photographs).

Marsh Muirhead - author of "Key West Explained - a guide for the traveler."

4.0 out of 5 stars Great guidebook for the Southwest, May 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am a fan of Fodor's guides and find them to be reliable guidebooks. One caveat - the Southwest is a very large area. The locations covered in the book are covered well, but some locations are not included due to the fact that the book covers 4 states. It's very useful for someone doing a road tour covering a large area as we did, driving from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, to Mesa Verde and then Moab, Utah. The one improvement is that I wish that the local maps would include the neighborhood name as the descriptions in both lodging and restaurants will frequently include the name of the neighborhood.
