I find this is a great book for when I'm being a tourist, either alone or with friends. It makes finding things to do easy, and finding things nearby a breeze. When I need to plan a day w/several activities, especially for different age groups, this is great for planning not just the activities but the whole day trip. I keep meaning to buy one of these for my hometown for when I have guests.
