My family purchased this book before heading out on the Lewis and Clark trail several years ago. (We were traveling west for a family reunion, and had decided to stay as close to the original route as possible, and take in as many of the Lewis and Clark related stops as we could.) This book made the journey so much more enjoyable for us, letting us know about a number of wonderful stops that we would have otherwise missed. We couldn't possibly stop everywhere we wanted, with only 20 days to cover the distance from St. Louis to the Pacific Ocean, and back again. But with this guide, we were able to better plan our trip, and hit as many of the wonderful stops as possible.
