indispensable guide to Oahu
a GREAT guide to the beautiful island of Oahu - I was there for a week and visited several of the "suggested" sites and was never disappointed. The maps were very helpful and very accurate. I always buy a Fodor's guide when travelling and will continue to do so.

Good but Ultimate Oahu Guidebook much better
I found the Fodor's book was just ok. It covered a lot but gave much less detail and opinions on sites, activities, and restaurants than the Ultimate Oahu Guidebook. The Fodor's book felt very sterile and afraid to offer any strong opinions against businesses that don't cut it. It was not bad by any means, but when given an option, I referred to my friend's copy of...

I found the Fodor's book was just ok. It covered a lot but gave much less detail and opinions on sites, activities, and restaurants than the Ultimate Oahu Guidebook. The Fodor's book felt very sterile and afraid to offer any strong opinions against businesses that don't cut it. It was not bad by any means, but when given an option, I referred to my friend's copy of the Ultimate Oahu Guidebook over the Fodor's Oahu.

You can't go wrong with Fodor's and especially not Fodor's O'ahu. I would recommend getting a second guidebook for comparisons and ideas, but this is a definite must. Highly recommended!
