I picked this book up on a whim while preparing to spend a week in New Orleans. It's a slim volume, but it contains a great wealth of information and is very user friendly. It also touches upon much of the area surrounding New Orleans, which was very helpful for planning day-trips. I wish there was a guidebook which covered all of Louisiana in depth, but in the meantime this is a good book to start with.

I really enjoyed this book. Although we went on this vacation without our 2 kids I liked it that there were kid friendly options noted in case we ever want to go back. The restaurant reviews were dead on. We liked the shopping suggestions too. All of the suggestions were practical and well presented. I'm thinking of getting more Fodor's guides for upcoming vacations simply because this one was so good.

I purchased this book looking for things to do and see in New Orleans. This book is detailed and well designed. It is packed with good info, so one needs to have some time to read and plan ahead. I couldn't have asked for any more info than what's in Fodor"s. I think it is excellent.

This book covered everything that you could possibly think about seeing while at New Orleans, including a few things outside the city. It covered hotels, tours, events going on throughout the year and also gave you a ballpark guideline to prices. This book will definitely be used when we go on our trip.
