This is a good concise guide to Puerto Vallarta. Would have liked a more expanded section on accomadations and dining. Found most of their comments to be spot on. We found supplemental information through Trip Advisor and Chowhound websites.

I was very glad I had this book for my recent trip to Puerto Vallarta. The "Fodor's Choices" for restaurants were particularly helpful. With Fodor's help we had good food that didn't break the bank, and we saw the key sights of Puerto Vallarta. In the future, I won't travel without Fodor's.

Most of my best travel experiences have been because of Fodor's --the best restaurant recommendations and local tips. It's never steered me wrong.

Run of the mill but competent tourist guide,
This review is from: Fodor's Puerto Vallarta 2010: With Guadalajara, San Blas, and Inland Mountain Towns (Travel Guide) (Paperback)
Fodors has a formula and this guide sticks to it. It is destined for tourists of a few days to Puerto Vallarta with a mix of practical (hotels, eating, orientation) and cultural/entertainment information. Prices change in Mexico every year so less recent editions have inaccurate pricing. The guide is back and white, bland and easy to navigate. It is meant for the average person. Maps are basic whereas color would have made planning a bit easier.

Fodor's Puerto Vallarta 2010: With Guadalajara, San Blas, and Inland Mountain Towns (Fodor's Gold Guides)Compared to many travel books this one is especially lacking in maps. If you hope to use it to do some of your own driving, you will be very disappointed in this book.
