Don't make this your sole source,

This book was of great help as we set up an itinerary for a self-tour of inland Scotland, but don't make the mistake of using it as your sole or even main source of information. It fails to make even a mention of several sites of major interest. We almost bypassed two of our favorite castles on the trip, thinking that if they weren't in Fodor's, they were probably piles of rubble of no historical interest. Also, treatment of B&Bs (our mainstay when traveling) was scant; don't use them as your main source of lodging info.I guess you could say the above of almost any travel guide, but this trip made us especially aware of the drawbacks of depending on a single source. |
