Having never visited DC as a tourist, I bought this book looking for help in planning my family's itinerary. It was very helpful in finding a hotel and choosing where to visit and when during our 3 day visit. If your children like quality food, don't follow the recommendations for individual restaurants (SPY Cafe was disappointing) but do visit the food court in the National Art Gallery - it was an affordable, attractive and delicious choice for the whole family. I recommend this book for first time visitors to D.C.
