4.0 out of 5 stars Good, Atmospheric, Spooky
I own about a dozen Graeme Revell soundtracks, this one is pretty good overall. It has a lot of spooky, atmospheric sounds, both electronic and orchestral. It fit the movie really well, but unless you're into listing to horror soundtracks (or need background music for a haunted house) it may not be your thing. Probably for fans of the film, genre, or Graeme only...

3.0 out of 5 stars The name of the moody rock song is...

The moody rock piece that signaled Elizabeth's (Maggie Grace) intro that connects to a scenic shot of the lighthouse station is "Salome's Wish" by The Booda Velvets. It's available on iTunes.

I have found that Revell tends to be at his strength when his scores are mostly electronic (not noisy or dancy, just electronic), or minimal. Scores such as The Crow, Dead Calm, or for the first few seasons of CSI: Miami. But he has such good grasp of sounds and sound textures, even in scores like this, or even Aeon Flux, it makes for interesting listening, and this score is no different. He also manages to create a simple, but memorable theme for the film that works well.

What might make this score most difficult to listen to are the abrupt changes, it can go from pretty quiet, to loud orchestral strikes and swells pretty quickly. But there are some great sounds on here, and the mix is outstanding.

As this film is a remake, it should be known that this score bares no resemblance to the classic John Carpenter score (nor did the film for that matter).

A Kid's Review

The Fog score is really good. It captures all of the eeriness that it was supposed. This is a must for any sondtrack score collector...or a fan of the movie!

3.0 out of 5 stars I Wish The Radio Station Music Was Used, November 9, 2005

In the movie, there was some great music being played at the lighthouse radio station. It was mostly darker rock music. I can't seem to find out the names of the songs played, and the soundtrack does not seem to contain any of those tunes. Disappointing!

1.0 out of 5 stars Music, March 25, 2006
This review is from: The Fog (Original Soundtrack) (Audio CD)
The songs from the lighthouse radio station were not on the soundtrack, I managed to find a couple of the tracks. If anyone is interested here is what they are: Invincible--Ok Go
Nighttime--Petracovich, Salome's Wish--The Booda Velvets. The song invincible really stuck out for me in the movie, I heard it and really liked it.
