Lonesome Dave's Legacy - Foghat Still Rocks,
By
This review is from: Foghat: The Millennium Tour (DVD)
Since original guitarist Rob Price had had enough of touring by 1999...the lead guitar is handled by Bryan Bassett...formerly of one of the incarnations of Molly Hatchet. Bryan does a great job of guitar work with a few minor miscues along the way. Lonesome Dave is amazing to watch...just after months of chemotherapy he is obviously feeling good and having a great time as all of Foghat seem to be doing. There are also great interviews here along with a great show just months before Lonesome Dave's untimely death on February 7,2000. It is obvious from this DVD that Foghat still believed in delivering a full assualt of blues and rock and that the Houston, Texas crowd was definitely into it. This DVD also included great live performances of "Somebody's Been Sleeping In My Bed" and a haunting live performance of "Angel Of Mercy" which was written by Lonesome Dave and Bryan Bassett. I think any Foghat fan should have this DVD....not for just the fact that it was one of Lonesome Dave's last performances...but also because it shows that Foghat still had the fire to play as well as they ever did.

Foghat - 'Millennium Tour' (WEA) DVD-Running Time:78 minutes,

I've heard other fans refer to Foghat as pretty much being a two-album band.Personally,I think they have more like four, maybe even five worthy lp's out.'Millennium Tour' was taped at a 1999 gig in Houston,TX.My only complaint about this DVD is there are entirely TOO many interview segments between the ten(10)songs that are played.Other than that, every Foghat fan should get a lot out of it.Tracks I thought were good to experience once again were "Stone Blue",the bluesy "Sweet Home Chicago","Somebody Sleeping In My Bed","Fool For The City" and their energetic encore "Slow Ride".Their new song "Rock Your House" is actually pretty good,I thought.Line-up:Lonesome Dave Peverett(R.I.P.)-guitar&vocals,Tony Stevens-bass,Brian Bassett-slide guitar and Roger Earl-drums.Lonesome Dave,my friend, you will be missed.

I know this was one of Lonesome Daves last shows, but I like the other music DVD better "2 Centuries Of Boogie" The guitar player does not compair with Rob Price, he is the king of slide guitar. I still enjoyed this DVD just not as much.

Label is misleading, should say "20% original ingredients"...,

This is not Foghat. OK, this is not yer Daddy's Foghat, and that's for darn sure 'cause I'm as old as yer Daddy. This is more like a Foghat "tribute" band with the actual original drummer from Foghat sitting in. I used to go front-stage at all Foghat shows that I could attend, and that was the best boogie going along with ZZ Top. I don't mind anyone making a living, but those that live on the dead are generally not highly regarded. If you want live Foghat, good luck. It seems that the guys didn't think much of music videos and there is very little out there excepting some very touching reformations that occurred some time shortly before the untimely and unfortunate passing of Lonesome Dave Peverett.

I didn't know much about Foghat except from a friend back in the 80's & That 70's Show :)- and again from Good Reviews on Amazon so was looking out for Foghat Live Concerts either on Standard DVD o Blu Ray and Foghat: The Milennium Tour was the only live concert I could find at the time a well recorded DVD with a Good Picture and not bad sound , The Millennium Tour was recorded and filmed live in concert in 1999 , shortly before
"Lonsome" Dave Peverett's premature death at the age of 56 singing & playing 10 songs Drivin' Wheel , Sombody's Sleepin' in my Bed , Stone Blue , It Hurts Me Too , Rock Your House , Sweet Home Chicago , Angel of Mercy , Fool for the City , I Just Wanna Make Love To You and Slow Ride with Bonus Extras: Backstage Pass , Little Help From My Friends Chat with the 'Hat and Photo Gallery ... Good Show 4 and a half .

This dvd really captures the true spirit of Foghat. To see Lonesome Dave giving this great performance while being so ill is amazing. The songs are mostly true to their original recordings and the band sounds great. So what if the video quality is not the greatest. It's Foghat and they give it their all

i just bought this today & have already watched it twice. It is agreat testament to Lonesome Dave's "Heart of rock & roll". After lots of treatment of his cancer, he still has the heart of a true rocker. Bryan Bassett was awesome on lead guitar. I loved the cuts to the interviews of the band. If U like the hard rockin of Foghat U'll but this dvd, & see the rock & roll Heart of Lonesome Dave.
