This is a very fine bilingual encyclopedia of the Spanish and English languages.

It installs within seconds and has extremely complex search capabilities in either language.

Whatever Amazon is charging for it - multiply by five and you will have a glimpse of the value of this CD-ROM.

Leave it in RAM. Read a Spanish language newspaper over the net. Watch Univision on cable TV. Pick words off the radio.

If you are using this dictionary to learn Spanish, you will ALSO have to have a verb book - it doesn't teach grammar, but it DOES teach modismos (idiomatic expressions).

It DOES know a noun from a verb from an adverb from an adjective.

This is an indispensable tool. Load it onto your laptop and take it to Mexico City or Miami or Venezuela. Share with the people you meet there.

I'm a Spanish teacher and I find this software very useful and helpful for instantaneous word look-up. It yields search results faster than Goggle and includes idiomatic expressions. Its files can be installed onto as many computers as desired. I lost the actual disc a couple years ago but have since installed the dictionary on other computers.

When I received the Spanish-English CD-Rom I didn't know what to expect. But I was hoping that it would be somewhat like the book form I own. By that I mean that when I look up a word in either language for instance. In English it should give me the Spanish equivalent or Spanish the English equivalent. So far, that is what it has done. I didn't need anything complex. I just need it to communicate with someone that works for me. Although, my Spanish is pretty good, I have an occasional memory lapse. I like just being able to click & imput a word & have it come up quickly. Also not have to deal with a heavy book. Heavy books are deterrents in making the effort to look things up.
Also it came with additional products that have expired and I have to purchase seperately for nearly $20.00 each. A medical dictionary (which I probably won't need) Webster's & Collegiate thesauras, Webster's 11th Collegiate and Webster's Dictionary. Do I need to have theese products? I'm clueless. I was told I didn't, so I'm trying it without. So far it seems I don't. Fo me this works.

This is a great spanish english dictionary, easy to use, great tool. This is great with definitions, if it could translate the words for you, it would be even better. Still it delivers, yes it's a good buy.

Considering Merriam-Webster's venerable name in the reference publishing industry, I bought this CD ROM Dictionary. I am sorry I did.
It is a total misery! Installation is as laborious as it can possibly be, and comes with gobs of advertisement. I could not not find the application after installation it is mingled with so many things the publisher wants to sell you: it is a hard sell, too.

After finding the program, the dialog box told me this was an old version I had to upgrade it. But failed to give me ANY CLUE NONE WHATSOEVER HOW!

I went the web site of the publisher there was not a clue how one goes about doing it either. I am a computer literate --quite adept I must say-- individual I have used computers since 1972, wrote applications and have been a PC and MAC user since 1981.

If you want to throw your money away, waste your evening, get frustrated buy Merriam-Websters Spanish English Dictionary. I have used the company's other products, too. They need to work real hard for 1000 years to bring their products to barely mediocre level.

This is the worst thing I have ever bought. I bought it because I am having some trouble in spanish in school. I bought it thinking that if I gave a english word it would give you the spanish word or vise versa. But all it does is give you the definition and does not give you the english word.So save your self 20 dollars and don't buy this
