Very good visual dictionay, August 9, 2008
This review is from: Merriam-Webster's Visual Dictionary (CD-ROM)
I expected just a dictionary with pictures and definitions, but it also has voice pronunciation and some good exercises to help studying. So I think it's great. I didn't rate it five stars because I think it should have even more definitions. Maybe it's a relatively new product and it will become more complete on future editions. Anyway, we are advised of the amount of definitions before making the purchase. Currently, this is the best visual dictionary I've ever seen

Question: Does this dictionary talk like the online [...], July 9, 2008
This review is from: Merriam-Webster's Visual Dictionary (CD-ROM)
I'm shopping for a talking dictionary that doesn't have to be connected to the Internet to hear the correct pronunciation of words.
The computer lab at the educational organization that I am helping out with the computer lab is teaching English for Students who Speak Other Languages (ESOL).
I have a copy of this in hard-copy, and it would be good for advanced students. I would buy this, but I'm not sure that it has any advantage over the hard-copy if all it is, is the same thing and takes a computer to view it.
If this computerized version of this visual dictionary could talk, it would be a "no-brainer" to buy it.
I didn't know, so I gave it an average rating of 3 stars.
