And the manufacturer is great about replacing defective parts.

This means that climbing hills should be rather easy but the top speed is not too high (slightly under 20mph at 90rpm).

Just received bike today. Overall the quality is what I was expecting, poor but acceptable considering the price. I was disappointed at the assembly. Everything was way out of adjustment right out of the box. Brakes were not useable, the headset was dangerously loose, both fenders were adjusted tightly against the wheels, the brake levers were lose on the handle bars, etc... After about 1/2hr I got most of that squared away. Then I went for a brief test ride. The chain rubs on the frame in the first and second gears, seems to be a design flaw. It looks like the frame was meant for a single speed and there ends up to be clearance issues on the larger gearing. So it is really a 4 speed as the 1 and 2 are not usable. The folding mechanisms seem to work well enough, but the safety latch on the main frame does not work at all.

The finish on the bike was OK. The stripes are stickers, on one side they were flawless and the other they are crooked and have folds in them. The good news is they peel off easily. There is also a large ding on the side of the frame about the size of a quarter. It looks like it happened during shipping, but the box showed no signs of dings. The description of the bike said it was silver but mine showed up black. Good thing I don't care about colors.

I'm planning on ordering a second folding bike for my wife. I ordered just one of these to see if I liked it. I'm on the fence as to whether or not I'm going to order a second. I was looking at the single speed Schwinn hinge but opted for this one because of the 6speed and adjustable height handle bar. I was able to look at a Schwinn hinge locally and found it to be slightly better quality than this bike. After riding this bike I don't think the 6speed is much of an advantage to the single speed. The adjustable handle bars are cheep and just another thing that could break in the future. I'm going to take another look at the Schwinn hinge.

Good bike. Shipped in time and was easy to assemble. Would have been nice if they had supplied it with an Allen-key to tighten the brake levers. Also, handle feels a bit shaky.
So, after the earlier comment about the handle feeling shaky the update is that the handle is now broken at the folding hinge. This happened while my girlfriend was riding it across a light crossing on a three-lane highway. Luckily she escaped with minor injuries. We wrote back to Sky Enterprise USA asking if they can send us a replacement part or if they sell spares. They basically rid themselves of any responsibility by saying that they dont provide any service for the bikes they sell and dont have spares since the bikes are "imported" directly from an overseas manufacturer. I asked them if they are willing to order a part for me (which I was ready to pay for btw) and they said no. I should probably sue them or something. Compare that with the support given by companies like Dahon, Schwinn and others I think this is a waste of time and money.

I bought 2 of these last week and they arrived in 2 days. The bikes were well packed and no damage. There were no instructiosn but it was simple to unwrap and then snap together with 2 clamps, one in the middle of the frame and one on the front fork. The paint job is excellent and the allow wheels look great. The bike seems sturdy (the maximum 250lbs rider weight might be a stretch) and the included rack is sturdy. Overall I am very pleased with what I got for the price. I checked all the small wheel folding bikes on Amazon and e-bay and this looked like the best deal (i wasn't going to spend $600 and up), although there were no reviews so I hope this helps. It weights 30 lb so i will need to help my girlfiend when we travel on trains and buses with them, that's why we bought them. I've had trouble when the full size bike racks were full. Note it will not fit in an airplane overhead bin. I haven't given them a good ride yet and I'll have to see how they endure but I recommend the bike so far.

Bought this several months back trying to save money on a second folding bike as my first was a Dahon. Bad decision. I learned now that a critical feature to look for is the locking mechanism where the frame is hinged. The Dahon, Citizen and other more reliable brands who make folding bikes, have very positive locking mechanism. This El Cheapo locking mechanism is really flimsy. When the bike is unfolded, there is a heavy duty "looking" (repeat "looking") lever that I thought would lock in place, but it simply just flips over very easily without any force or effort, and then relies on a hook-like mechanism to hold it in place. This CANNOT be a safe design with the needed redundancy as the hinge location is a major point of weakness in the frame. The telescopic handle is also wobbly when fully extended, so don't bother extending it. The grips on the bike are too short and feels uncomfortable. The brakes are terrible; definitely el cheapo and require lots of tweaking to get it not to rub against the wheel unless you want a lot of clearance between the brake shoe and the wheel. I have seen other transit riders with Citizen which runs about $200 for their low end and looks more well built than this wasted investment. In hindsight, for safety, durability, and performance, I would go with Dahon which use to have a 7 speeder that sold for about $400+. There is another interesting new comer name Mobic Folding Bike which sems to be filling the $300 - $400 range where Dahon's 7 speeder use to be. In any case, pay attention to the locking mechanism of the frame and other quality features.
