The shovel cost;$5.84.The shipping cost;$5.99.The photo has 2 grips,while the description has 1,It arrived with 1.The case had 2,one inch rips in it.The nylon zipper is missing a few teeth,causing it to jam.It has acompass at the top of the handle,which does not work(you would not find your way across the street).On the one grip it has japanese writing,so I would think that it is not made in the U.S.A.I am not sorry I purchased it because I gave it away to a woman who likes planting flower bulbs in the spring. I will,in the near future,purchase a survival shovel...BUT NOT THIS ONE!!!

Not sure if I forgot to read the dimensions on this before I ordered, but it is basically an oversized garden trowel. I was expecting something bigger. It is also quite heavy if you are going to take it backpacking. I am going to keep looking for something a little larger but lighter.

You get what you pay for and this product is more for Boy Scouts not very stable pretty flimsy if you dig will break.

No good for digging a fox hole but might be enough for a latrine ditch or maybe a fire pit. VERY small and not too sturdy. The bag is junk and doesn't work well on a web belt. throw it in a survival kit but don't expect it to work for camping.

This is an ideal piece of equipment to carry in the trunk of the car for emergency extraction from snow build up under the tires. It is extremely compact and takes up virually no space. I have purchased one to place in both of my vehicles as well as one for my daughter to place in hers.

Other reviewers said it was too small. To me, that is its best point. Takes up little space; doesn't weigh much. Beats using your hands or a found stick to dig a latrine trench. Is there a rock under you sleeping bag? This could dig it out. You want build fortifications? Bring a construction shovel, pick, and wheel barrel. This is just what I had in mind. Recommended.

It is lite weight.....Too lite
The blade of this shovel will Bend or break if used as a E-tool.....poor tinsel strength!
Handle/the bevel adjuster to tighten the shovel in locked position is plastic!

CHEAP CHINESE CRUD!

This is a great product for minor digging applications. It is a bit small and the handle is short but it can get the minor stuff done. I suggest a full size e-tool for more aggressive digging. This little guy is going to tire you out.

i bought this shovel to use with my metal detector i dont think it will hold up to digging in beach sand it looks much more durable in the picture than it does in person but like the old saying goes you get what you pay for it would be great for the kids to play in a sand box.

Good sturdy well priced product. Compact and does the job. I only wish it were not in several peices in its collapsible form. I was hoping it was telescoping/folding.
