Pretty Paper--Paper Cutter Required,
By
This review is from: Iris Folding Papers (The Crafter's Paper Library) (Paperback)
The book is described as "perforated" papers. Just be aware that only the bound side of each sheet is perforated. This enables you to easily remove each sheet from the booklet as you are ready to use it but you will have to cut and score the strips individually after that. The papers represent 6 primary colors (red, blue, green, yellow, orange, & purple) with 4 identical sheets for each color. The paper sheets are semi-glossy which enhances the interesting prints and subtle hue changes. I like the papers but it sure would have been nicer if each of the 7 strips on each page was perforated in between.

Pretty Patterned Strips of Paper,
This review is from: Iris Folding Papers (The Crafter's Paper Library) (Paperback)
This book provides colour coordinated patterened sheets for use in Iris folding. There are 4 sheets each of patterned: red, green, orange, blue, yellow, purple. And each sheet has 7 different patterns in a particular colour. Each of these patterns is about 8.5 by 1.5 inches. The paper is of good quality with a glossy finish and the patterns quite pretty. However if you have access to good coordinated gift paper or scrabooking sheets in several shades that may work as a substitute.
The book gives a sample IRIS folding pattern and describes what is IRIS folding, but does not really give complete instructions one could follow and do a project with Iris Folding Technique. You have to know a bit about IRIS folding (either check the NET or buy a book on it) Also it does not tell you that you need the following supplies: 1) Iris Folding Template 2) Card or Paper with the shape of the template cut out, ie if the template is a cirle, then you need to cut a cirle the same size of your template on the card or paper you are working with 3) Tape 4) Iris folding papers in different shades. Usually the strips used are approx 2 cm wide, and then folded at about 0.7cm. These are then taped in order to you card with the cutout shape, by matching up strips over the template.

Nice book if you want just multiple matching papers for folding. I would have preferred more versatility in the patters (ie more floral or country).

Though this book has many different colors and patterns, I didn't care for the slick paper the patterns were printed on. I was hoping to get papers with more texture. I was aware, prior to purchase, that I would have to cut out the individual strips and did not mind that aspect.

This book is called Iris Folding PAPERS; therefore, it should not tell you how to do it or give you patterns. It is simply papers!!!!!!! As to the colors, the primary ones are lovely; you use such a small amount of each paper that any larger prints wouldn't show up. The weight is decent enough to fold and tape and not make a large bulge in the card. I'd like a few more colors - say a variety of greys, but pretty good. I'd purchase it again for a quick fix in papers.

This is the first time I have used this type of paper and the first time I have done Iris folding. I really like the colors of the papers and how much of the same design there is in the book of papers. I like it so well I am interested in purchasing more of different designs.

I bought these as a gift for my mom, but was tempted to keep them for myself. The colors and variety of papers in this selection are lovely, and they are the perfect weight for the craft of iris folding. I think they'd be an appropriate choice for other kinds of paper crafting.

The book of Iris folding paper is lovely. There is quite a variety of different prints in varying shades of color that help to produce a beautiful design using the Iris Folding paper design.
