Tricky at first, but overall very good.,

I've had this seat for some time and I saw all of the negative reviews. It took a bit to figure out the quirks, but once I did, it was fine. The seat has to go on the very front of the public toilet, not the back or in the middle like mine at home. You have to make sure that it is on securely with the lip in the front against the front of the seat. Otherwise it will fold, which is probably what happened to the other reviewer. It will slid off as you come off if you're not careful. My five year old uses it by herself and I use it with my 2 year old. It is so compact that I can stick it in my purse (I carry in in a zippy bag) and very easy to clean. There aren't too many of this type of product out there, but for me, it works just fine.

primo potty seat review,

We just used this potty seat on a 3 week trip across the country. It worked great for my daughter, on all different kinds of toilets in the US,and Mexico, even on the plane toilet. She is confident on this seat as it is very secure on a toilet, unlike the other brands available, and I tried them all before this. The first time I used it I couldn't get it to fit either, until I got out the directions and realized it has to go over the toilet seat with the rim in the front hanging OVER the toilet, and pulled up snug right againnst the toilet. It covers everything your child would touch on a public toilet, and my daughter had plenty of room between the sides of her legs and where the handles are.I use paper potty seat covers that I carry with me in a plastic ziplock bag with the potty seat and put one of those down before the potty seat, so I don't have to clean the potty seat every time it's used, which makes it practical for traveling.I have NOT had any problems with pinching or injuries, because the hinges are covered on this model, unlike the other brands I tried, which fell in or sagged or had moving uncovered hinges which would pinch. This is the best on the market and I've tried them all and this works. I won't give it a 5 star rating, though, because the covered seam hinges, which are necessary to prevent pinching and injury, stand up a bit. This means that if you want your child to slide forward or backward on the potty seat for a better position, you have to pick them up and move them instead of having them slide, or the seams where the covered hinges are could possibly irritate or scrape your child because they stand up. I suspect the woman whose son's bottom bled may have scooted him along the seat against these seams. Is it a perfect seat? No. But if you are aware of the flaws and never slide your child while they are seated on the seat, it really does work on every toilet in several states and Mexico if you read the directions first and be sure you know how to use it before you put your child on it.I do wish Primo would find a way to flatten those seams a bit, but as I said, I tried every other brand out there first and this is the best. Many other brands have uncovered hinge seams, and that is far worse, because then the seat can collapse or unfold at the unlocked, uncovered hinges, and if your child moves at all on that type of seat, they will end up with their bottom caught in the hinges for sure, causing a far more serious injury than an avoidable surface scrape.

Great traveling seat,

This has been the most convient traveling potty seat we have used. Unlike other ones, it has a place toward the front for your little one's hands and prevents your child's legs from coming in contact with the filthly seat. It is also very compact. We have used it on all kinds of toilet seats and have never had a problem with it sliding of the seat or pinching legs like some of the other reviews state. The thing to remember is that it needs to be placed all the way to the front of the toilet seat so the lip on the front of the folding seat secures it. If you try to place it on like the seats used at home then, yes, you will have problems. When used correctly this seat is great.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!,

We bought this for our son after experiencing some dirty or too large public toilets.
My husband tried to use it for the first time yesterday and could not get it to fit the toilet at a restaurant and there was no way he could lift my son on to it without it slipping. I thought I would give it a try today when we were out for breakfast. Typical toilet at Einstein's bagels. I had a hard time getting it to stay, lifted my son up and placed him on the seat. He let out a horrible scream and I lifted him up and threw the seat cover to the floor. He was bleeding. THE PRIMO FOLDING POTTY SEAT CUT HIM ON HIS BEHIND!!!!!! This product does not fit on toilets, the handles are blocking where the legs should go and instead of protecting him, it hurt him. We will just bring disinfecting wipes from now on. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

not best for boys,
This review is from: PRI Folding Potty with Handles, White granite (Baby Product)
My son used this several times & wet all over the floor each time. There is no splash guard on it for boys, but it probably works fine for girls.

Great Sanitary Seat for Going Out,
By Mom2-2cuties (Piscataway, NJ) - See all my reviews

I read all the reviews before I bought this seat and was a little concerned. I considered buying disposable seats but I think that would end up being costly especially during the potty training stage when kids sometimes go more. But after getting it and using it I think it's great for what it is. I don't know how a folding seat small enough to fit in your purse won't have some things you give up when compared to regular sized seats. It fits on the front part of the toilet and it can seem to bend a little if you put your child too far back on the seat. But my child never touches the toilet and can hold on to the handles which are positioned in the front of the seat away from the side of the toilet. In summary, I try not to leave home without it!!!

The fit on the seat isn't intuitive, but other reviewers who described how to seat the front lip in front of the potty were very helpful.
My son is 30 lbs., and the seat does bow in a little from his weight, but doesn't collapse entirely. For a boy, one should keep repeating, "Point it down, point it down," because there is no splash guard for absent minded boy toddlers. I can see how a little tush might get pinched if the seat were not completely unfolded before he sat down, so it's important to make sure it's completely flat. The design of going over the front of the seat makes sense now, as it minimizes contact between those curious little hands and a dirty public toilet seat. I keep Lysol wipes in my pouch to clean the bottom side of the seat before folding it up and storing it again. It fits easily into a small diaper bag or a large purse. It's definitely something I want on hand on trips to friends' houses or public places. I wish it were a little sturdier and there were a good way to avoid the possibility of pinching, but I will say my 2 year old is particularly squirmy, and he hasn't fallen in or yelped in pain yet. The bottom line is, it is functional, although not perfect, and I would buy it again if I needed to replace it.

I love this folding potty!!!,

I love the PRIMO Folding Potty! It is the best! It is so compact and easy to carry with me when I take my son to the stores or restaurants. I haven't had any problems finding toilets that it doesn't work on. My son finds it very secure, especially when he can hold on to the handles. I love the fact that he has handles to hold onto instead of the dirty toilet bowl. It is very sturdy and easy to clean.

Le Tour de Potty,
By
This review is from: PRI Folding Potty with Handles, White granite (Baby Product)
We own at least one of every type of potty device around... the little seats, the seat adapters, the chairs that convert to step stools, etc... so we thought this would complete our potty accessory collection and be useful when we're on the go. We keep it stashed in the car and he uses it all the time. In fact, he wants to use the potty in every store and every restaurant, at least once. It's like le Tour de Potty, and I can't complain.
It's a nice size when folded, and it could be carried in a larger purse or a large coat pocket. It comes with an ordinary zippered plastic storage bag for carrying. I would be nice if it came with something fabric or a little more discreet. The only "complaint" I have (and it's not really a complaint, because we've made it work despite this shortcoming) is that, as other reviewers have stated, the seat is made for a short bowl and not the elongated bowls on most toilets in public places. On an elongated bowl, it sits forward quite a bit and can be a challenge for a little boy's aim. Still, he wants to use it and it works.

A great travel potty seat!,

This is a great travel potty seat. We just returned from an international trip, and we took this seat with us for our daughter. She's 3, but the size of a two year old so regular toilet seats are too large for her. Before we left on the trip I briefly introduced her to her new "vacation" potty and we were off and running. We never had a problem. My daughter was perfectly comfortable on the seat and it fit on every toilet on our trip, including in the airport and on the plane. It was a lifesaver! And it's small enough to fit in a small diaper bag, too. I can't understand the negative reviews of this seat. Just remember that the seat fits OVER the front rim of the toilet seat, not inside like regular potty inserts. You can't go wrong!
