5.0 out of 5 stars VERY PLEASED WITH THIS HOME REMEDY BOOK!!
I was somewhat skeptical about all there claims regarding home aids, and vitamins for pretty serious ailments. But I followed there suggestions for poor circulation, after having very poor circulation in my extremities, especially legs for years now, and
being on medication for years with absolutely no relief, as far as painful calfs, and hardly being able to walk...

2.0 out of 5 stars Fair but not as advertised
I received a US Mail advertisment for this book. I thought it looked interesting but didn't want to spend the approx. $30 to buy it outright. Very glad I got it used at Amazon. Not as advertised.
A lot of mainline medical information. Not much that seemed "Folk Remedy" to me. Not recommended.

This review is from: Folk Remedy Encyclopedia - Olive Oil, Vinegar, Honey And 1,001 Other Home Remedies (Hardcover)
I was somewhat skeptical about all there claims regarding home aids, and vitamins for pretty serious ailments. But I followed there suggestions for poor circulation, after having very poor circulation in my extremities, especially legs for years now, and
being on medication for years with absolutely no relief, as far as painful calfs, and hardly being able to walk even a 10 steps anymore without having to stop and rest my calfs. I started taken the vitamin E, ginko biloba, drinking black tea 4 times a day, and complex vitamin B, and Flaxseed oil. After about 5 weeks, I just started noticing less pain when walking and increased energy throughout the day, with out napping and feeling generally better(mentally as well). I don't know if some people think that 5 weeks is a long time to wait to notice a difference, but for me after years of Pills with no improvement, and feeling less and less alive, 5 weeks was nothing. It has been over 6 months now, and I wouldn't stop taking the vitamins or herbs for nothing in the world. I feel alive and useful again. THIS BOOK HAS BEEN A LIFE SAVER FOR ME!!

This book is filled with natural remedies which are easy to duplicate. Most of the remedies I wanted, were available in my pantry or at the nearest health food/vegetable store. Each page is filled with easy-to-read (large print) concise remedies for colds, cancer, poison, wrinkles and more. Most of the remedies I tried worked well. A few of the skin rash remedies did not work as well for my heat rash. Every page is easy to read and filled with surprises. Each section has a brief definition, references, and instructions on how to remedy the discomfort.

The encyclopedia is interesting reading. It is also set up in a way to makie finding remedies for different conditions (ex.diabetes, anxiety, high blood pressure)easier. Many of the remedies I hadn't heard of. Still trying them to find out if they work for me or not.

Great Book. A lot of great info and ideas. Still use common sense when applying this info to your daily life.
