Great music, great bargain, May 9, 2008

This is tough, sensitive, wonderful music by a fantastic singer & songwriter. A sometime member of Asheville's legendary uke-rockers Mad Tea Party, she didn't fit in with their quirky perkiness & left (on amicable terms w/the other band members) Every song on this CD is good from the barroom bathos of "Wishful Drinkin'" to the Butch Hancock-esque wordplay on "Hummingbird Song" to the racy "Kitchen Song" & the eerie "El Espanto" (that's Spanish for scarecrow) Unfortunately Miller rarely performs outside North Carolina but this is a great way to check out her unique brilliance, cheap too, grab it now.
